Account Manager
The Account Manager is responsible for managing client programs and projects from conception to planning to execution and selling high-impact public relations and marketing programs for business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients in a variety of industries. Working alongside senior account team members to oversee execution of client projects, the account manager ensures work meets or exceeds quality standards, achieves results for client objectives in public relations, marketing and advertising campaigns, and is delivered on time and within budget. The account manager takes a collaborative approach to solving problems and exemplifies leadership among the team, and also has the ability to work autonomously. The account manager ensures positive client relationships, quality work, results-oriented programs, timely billing and account profitability. Prerequisite skills include expertise in copywriting, research, clerical/production needs, creative or art direction as well as superior planning, long- and short-form writing, client relations, media relations, presentation and delegation skills.
The account manager will be responsible for:
- Managing the needs of clients and providing account service in the areas of PR, marketing, social media and advertising
- Contributing to client meetings with thoroughly developed research and ideas as well as interacting and updating clients on all PR and marketing activities
- Building client and media relationships and maintaining a network of contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople to further client’s objectives
- Trafficking projects and client requests for effective workflow as well as coordinating deliverables and scheduling tasks within project management software
- Working with senior account team members to craft project timelines, tasks and milestones based on resources, scope of work and priority
- Writing creative materials, PR and media outreach materials, social media and blog content, email marketing, advertisements, editorial features, guest columns, printed and e-newsletters and other marketing materials for accuracy in copy, grammar and subject matter, ensuring it meets or exceeds the client’s needs and objectives
- Developing strategy and content for paid social media and digital campaigns as well as implementing through automated scheduling tools content – paid and organic – as well as writing blogs
- Providing innovative and creative ideas to clients that positively impacts their bottom line
- Ensuring that all project documentation follows processes and is reviewed/approved internally and externally prior to distribution
- Building relationships with new and existing clients and fostering account growth with new projects to grow their current scope
- Developing news angles, stories, news releases, guest columns and media pitches for use in media outreach to further the client’s profile, products and services
- Supporting agency in pitching for new business and developing proposals and presentations
- Analyzing PR and paid media campaign results and providing written and verbal reports to clients
- Assisting in coordination and execution of client events.
- Participating in internal team meetings and leading client meetings
- Contributing to and overseeing administrative tasks such as coordination/distribution of client projects as well as agenda and conference report preparation
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field
- 3-5 years experience, 2 years experience in an agency setting preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough understanding of AP Style
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and common computer skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment while delivering quality results
- Deals well with ambiguity and a free-flowing work environment while also being able to work within strategic systems
- Calendar management and scheduling experience

JJPR Fellowship Program
The JJPR Fellowship Program is a 12-week, full-time immersive work experience and agency training program beginning in late May and running through the middle of August. Open to recent college graduates or college seniors, this paid and highly competitive opportunity gives aspiring public relations, marketing and creative professionals the chance to learn from and work alongside the JJPR team. The JJPR Fellowship Program is designed to prepare soon-to-be or recent college graduates with a strong foundation and desired industry skills to land their first job in communications.
Compensation: Candidate(s) selected for the 12-week Fellowship Program will receive compensation and a stipend for expenses to be determined upon acceptance.
All fellowship candidates must provide resumés, writing and/or design samples and interview with agency personnel prior to acceptance.
Public Relations Fellowship
- Working toward or holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, business, media or related fields
- Available to work in person at the agency 3-5 days, 35-40 hours per week during summer months

- Create meeting agendas, conference reports, hour reports and media reports to share with clients
- Help create, support, execute, promote and measure the success of a variety of marketing communications projects for clients
- Work in tandem with the account team on marketing and public relations project tasks and deliverables
- Public Relations
- Research and develop media lists in an online database to use for personalized media outreach on behalf of clients
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to assist the drafting and distribution of customized media pitches, media alerts, news releases and other content to support client PR efforts
- Draft print and digital materials for clients to support media outreach
- Content Development
- Research, create and curate monthly social media calendars, blogs and email marketing content while working alongside the account team, the creative team and clients
- Research, interview and write newsletter and magazine articles for client publications
- Conduct website content audits and assist with website copywriting
- Social Media
- Schedule social media content across multiple platforms
- Contribute to the development of social media and communication audits
- Analyze social media campaigns’ performance and make recommendations for improvements on engagement, targeting and content
- Email Marketing
- Learn the design, development and distribution processes of email marketing
- Research
- Research public relations and social media trends, and prepare forecast
- Participate in weekly meetings and internal brainstorming sessions
- Research and develop lists of influencers for client collaborations as well as seek out client competitors
- Industry Experience and Skills

- Must have access to Adobe Creative Cloud Suite software
- Be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Lightroom)
